MPOG® case histories - onshore
First investigations and applications using the MPOG® technology were carried out in Germany in 1961. During the period of development numerous oil and gas field as well as geologically interesting structures without hydrocarbon indications have been investigated. In close co-operation with geologists and geophysicists case studies were carried out on exemplary reservoir types.
All wells discussed here have been drilled or published after a microbial prospecting. All known oil fields were successfully identified with MPOG® and all identified microbial anomalies were located vertically above hydrocarbon deposits.
The case studies discussed here show the undisturbed oil field "Kietz", a complex and heavily disturbed region with small fields "Guben", and a completely destroyed structure "Sproetau".
A significant result of intensive research is the finding that a generation of a microbial anomaly in shallow soil layers above a hydrocarbon bearing structure appears to be independent of geologic faults.
